‘Yuganta: The End of an Epoch’ book review

The ‘Mahabharata’ what I know is from the TV series what my generation used to see as children. The story of a war, a war between a set of cousins, a war between good and evil. But what the author does in this book is strip the characters of their immortality and the godly statuses and present them as mere human beings. This helps us in appreciating the ‘Mahabharata’ even more. She presents many of the events from ‘Mahabharata’ with a logical viewpoint. The book also sketches a character study of many characters like Kunti, Karna, Draupadi. There is also a lot of detail on the evolution of literature and society from the time of the great war.

Do read it. Such books deserve to be read!
